Eric Swalwell sketches by Linda

I’m still learning how to do really good portraits. I need to do Eric’s face from profile, straight into camera, and 3/4 turn.
Rep. Eric Swalwell is a US Congressman from Dublin, California.  I’m totally in love with him.  He’s so sexy!  My favorite Millennial, along with Ross Ulbricht.  He’s the youngest man in Congress.  He started out as a Dublin city councilman.  He still flies once a week from Washington DC to the SF Bay Area, to visit his constituents.
Eric is a big supporter of good Bay Area cops.  He’s seen at police funerals and recently schmoozed with Narendra Modi, president of India, at Silicon Valley, which is in Santa Clara County in the South Bay area, not far from the Peninsula.

September Mandala

image

I’m inspired by mandalas I see on Pinterest.  I have a real need to do more mandalas and also geometric shapes in various colors.
I would define a mandala as a circle containing many symmetrical or asymmetrical shapes and colors inspired by the sacred.  I have experienced mandalas modifying my and other’s dreams.
I like adding the 4 Directions to my mandalas.  Each one is a Dream Gate.
Mandalas may be scientifically proven to alter minds in the future.  They could be Time Bridges.  As Masters and Johnson once said, “More Research Needed!”

Indigenous Shapes 01 and 02

I am enthralled by the idea of Coloring Books for Adults.  Seems like the idea has caught fire with certain illustrators.  The above was inspired by an article about using LEGOS at business brain storm sessions to attain creative breakthroughs.
Below is a photo of my bed with blankets and my Artist’s Bag.  The Holy Grail of Totes– the Zip-Top.

Erotic Dream

image

This is delicious and Safe For Work.  Most sexy photos are exactly that.  Photos.  I feel better expressing my sexuality on paper with pencils.
From the sketchbook of Linda M Smith.  Prismacolor pencils and graphite.  I am so grateful forall those Berkeley City College illustration classes.  Especially the one with all those naked people.

Spiral Thoughts

I draw from Sacred Geometry as well as the Mayan Calendar and my fascination with hands, hearts, and spirals.
I like working in a combination of black and white, as well as colors.  Mixed media on paper is my favorite.
I believe the sketchbook is sized 7 x 9 inches.  98 pound paper.  60 sheets.  Canson brand.  Mix Media paper.  Suited for almost anything from pencils and pens to watercolor brush pen with minimal water application.
